Christmas Fruit Cake

I have a lot of back dated posting but let's post this up first so that my blog can appear to be more Christmasy :)

Lilian ordered these 2 fruit cakes (all for herself haha...). She didn't want any icing but I made her some figurines nevertheless ^^

Christmas Tree Cookies

I'm giving out butter cookies as Christmas present this year, instead of cupcakes. Not to say that cupcakes are so last year :p, but just thought of trying something different.

Christmas trees made out of butter cookies (Must be quite delicious till mum can't stop eating - the non decorated ones from the excess dough) and decorated with royal icing (meringue powder and not raw egg white). Star and presents made out of fondant.

The ones packed during the first morning to be given out were with extra card board "protection" because the royal icing has not quite harden yet. I packed these later in the afternoon and they were all great for directly packing into the cookie bags. :)

Castle cake

Made this for Kim at the last minute. I was supposed to attend a 3 day class and had closed those dates for all orders, but the class was cancelled last minute, therefore also took Kim's order last minute :)

I was originally thinking of a fondant cake, but Kim was interested in a fresh cream cake. As you know, fondant decorations are actually not compatible with chilled cakes. Hmm... But Kim gave me an idea of ice cream cones as the towers, so I thought I can actually cover the cones with fresh cream. The figurines would just have to go onto the cake just before delivery.

But actually this is not a good idea. SO SORRY Kim! The cone got too soft and it didn't hold up and survive her car journey home. So for you who are reading this, if you want a chilled castle cake, I would suggest plastic towers. :)

The requested figurines - the puppies from Barbie and the Diamond Castle series, and the cat from the Three Musketeers. And a girl figurine - No, I can't make Barbie, it is too "real" kind of animation, I am not able to copy the face features.

It wasn't a perfect cake but I actually liked this cake a lot. It would be good if the cake is served when it was just piped up. But as for orders, can't do lah... ;)

It's a Rolex!

My first watch cake! And I liked it so much myself that I didn't feel like delivering it. But of course I had to... :p

Tasha ordered this after getting the Chanel for her mom. :) I thought I had missed this because when she first requested, it was during the "ING weekend" which I told her I really REALLY couldn't.
When we discussed design, Tasha told me she wanted a box with the lid attached and opened. The box cover was really a big challenge! After a few attempts, I decided that the lid needed "extra support" beside the inner supports (trust me).

Randomly chose a watch design from the web, the only specification from Tasha was that she wanted a gold watch, the design was free hand.
Don't ask me the name of this design, but it looked like something for underwater from the look of that timer.

As I had changed the surface of the watch to gold instead of white, I changed the font colour to black instead of gold so that we can "tell the time" :).

I even tried to copy the design of the hour and minute hands. It was not only "minute", but "second" detail!

Though the watch was okay-ish real, I guess the logo had passed with higher marks :))

Watch box was made of a coffee and walnut cake with coffee butter icing. The cake was 6 inches square and with the lid, the whole cake measured almost 10 inches in height!
I hope this had managed to make an impression after my designer handbags... Keep those brilliant ideas coming! ;)

Chloe's Closet

Meet Chloe...

When Chelsea placed this order, I had no clue of how "Chloe's Closet" theme can be done haha... if you try googling that, you will know what I mean! So later got some "briefing" from Chelsea and we agreed with a few figurines that represents the cartoon.

The closet of course

Lovely Carrot - a ducky blanket that Chloe hug all the time. This blanket can fly :)
Princess hat

Magician's hat
Ballerina shoes
Pirate hat and sword... oppss... cropped away the sword, by the way, bad picture quality. This was taken just before delivering because I only wrote the wordings just before leaving the house (to avoid the icing wordings from smudging). So, didn't had the time to set up the place properly for photo shooting.

Let the imaginations go wild! :)

Moira's 1st Birthday

This was Adeline's order for her younger daughter's 1st birthday. The cow is her Chinese Zodiac and I've place it with a "garden" setting.

Another lazy post with not many words, haha... ;)
