Happy Birthday Jaah!

Jaah has "ordered" his own birthday cake this year and his design is no surprise. Haha... It's MU theme, of course.

And one may want to ask why is there a "2-1" on the cake. Ohh... the date of this post is back dated, if I say that the "2-1" was only placed on 13th February, would you then know what it means? ;)

This cake theme was no surprise because...

Something non MU was Jaah's cake in year 2009 during the "no frill" era :). And the years before that was the no blog era ;)

Another MU Football Club fan

It was actually the same fan (who ordered this set of cakes), but for different birthday boys.

This football was a cake, but since there was not enough cakes for the number of guests at the party, Jaah ordered another portion (total 2 recipes) of cake.

And the other portion of the cake was made into a "shoe bag"

For my best friend, best mentor and definitely a hard core MU fan!

This is a continuation of last year's cake. Since I gave up the 3D and went for the cake flavour last year, I decided to go for the design this year. ^^

I didn't have a round baking tin, this was sculptured from 2 normal round cakes, that explains why it's not perfectly round. The sculpturing was fine, however, the patching of the hexagons and pentagons really made me crazy! This is the result of 2nd round of patching. Had to take off after the first round and redo because the patterns won't join at all at certain places!! *sweat*

At least the grass were okay, right? :)

Happy 50th birthday, Jaah! (sorry, can't help it :p :p)

The World Cup Fever!

I thought I would never make anything related to the WC 2010 until Mavis ordered this for her husband's surprise birthday do. I am not a football fan so had to get consultation from Azhar on what does one put on a box of cupcakes for the world cup :)

MU & Snake

I know, I know what you are thinking - this cake is for a MU fan whose zodiac is snake! Or MU fan club for snakes :p Hehe...

Yes, this cake is for a MU fan... but the snake is another person. It's a cake to celebrate the birthdays of 2 of Joyce's friends, one of them a MU fan and the other whose nickname is "snake", hence she came up with this idea.


Due to lack of time, I didn't want to challenge myself with time to create the MU logo... I bought a sticker with the MU logo instead and have it stuck onto the mini sugarpaste scarf.

And here's the green snake with yellow spots. I was researching on snakes and found that they are erm... pretty scary, so I was aiming to make a cartoon snake which is cute and funnier looking.

Tadaaa... That's why the big eye and cheeky smile.

Celebrating birthday the United way

CNY baking was really REALLY crazy! But there's this very important birthday which I cannot not bake a cake for. I wanted to make a 3D football originally, but I also know Jaah prefers the fresh cream cake more than a butter or chocolate cake... So since this is going to be a refrigerated cake, I had used these plastic "toys".



This logo was bought from one of the push-cart stalls in Sungai Wang, which I happened to be some weeks ago. I've put up a layer of baking paper at the back of this logo to have a layer between the cake and the sticker (this is actually a sticker).


I know, I know... the "field" is too small and I am not very sure if I've drawn the lines correctly. I had to send this cake off straight after it's decorated because my fridge has no space! Trust me, even the maid who received the cake commented that the box was so big, "besarnya box!".

Since there's no more space for the footballer to play in the field, they'd gone done to the lawn.

These toys were just so cute, I had so much fun arranging them (with some consultation from cousin) this blue one for instance, which I thought had fallen down, but cousin said he's trying to "steal" the football... really? Okay, anyways, okay or not this arrangement?

The goal keeper, like real. Haha...

I know the cake wasn't that tasty but I hope you'd enjoyed the fun!

Football?

Okay, I know my football is not "correct" :p

Here... I bought these cute little football chocolates because I knew that there was a big chance of me not doing a good job in the handmade one. I will do more research on this item. :)

Originally told Angie that I have a rather tight schedule this week and will not be able to make her many cartoon characters like the last one she ordered. But I had tried my best to make time for a TTB. Using my phone camera last night because I was again lazy to go upstairs to fetch my camera.
