Frangipani

This was a project for Faz... she showed me picture of her friend wearing one of these on her hair, told me this is her friend's favorite flower. After Faz telling me the name of these flowers, I've tried searching for some pictures. The next time I made these, I shall try to have them petals slightly overlapping.

Anyone interested to order something with these flowers? :)

Made 12 of these flowers and mixed them with some other 5 petal fondant flowers to make up this box of white and yellow theme.

The flowers...

Beautiful words by Faz. Don't you just love them?

Have a splashing birthday!

Feel like posting loads of pictures instead of long story telling tonight (excuse! ... Lazy :p).

Here's a box by Stephanie (thank you sooo much for the support!) for her sister's 12th birthday. Heard that the little sea creatures were to huge for birthday gal to finish. DON'T! Too much sugar... perhaps keep them as "toys" :)

"huge" baby whale

Nemo... seems popular

Dori... rather grumpy looking, oppss... was hoping to achieve the blur look :p

Dolphin... which I wasn't able to produce during my last order due to lack of time. Modified this little thing after photo taking actually.

The funny octopus to replace the crab request. I will figure out the way of making crabs, next time.

Stingray

Some touch up upon assembling the box... toffee crunch sprinkles, sugar pearls etc...

And my favorite in this box... my little tortoise

Happy birthday Christina!

A thank you cake

I think it is nice and kind of sweet to bring a cake to your own farewell party.

An end to this chapter, a brand new start of another story.
Enjoy the short break sis, and good luck for your new journey ;)

Birthday Valentine

Nope, it's not Valentine's Day delivery though it can be, that's why I've also labelled this Valentine's Day.. It's Valentine TTB for a birthday cake. Aunt Elvy said she doesn't know what else she wanted TTB to do.

This was for a birthday celebration in her office.

TTB on a Hokey Pokey cake - coffee walnut cake with coffee butter icing.

Something concerns me - Aunt told me that the head of TTB actually fell off when she had the cake. Hmm... so eerie I know to find a headless TTB. But this was the second time for her. Anyone of you experienced this problem with TTB? Please let me know, so far I only know that this happened to Aunt's TTB only. Strange. I lifted TTB by it's head after I made it and it didn't fall off, how come it couldn't survive the... erm... what? Car journey? WHAT caused TTB to be beheaded??? :( :(

Aunt said put a toothpick to hold the head, but I'd preferred not to because it's dangerous if I forgot to remind and someone were to bite on it. Furthermore, it would be great if the whole bear can just stick together without internal structure. BUT for Aunt Elvy's TTB in the future, all will go with an additional stick to hold the head. Hmmmphhh...

Mini Quiche Lorraine

One of the items I would really like to have (besides the chicken pie of course. Which reminds me, version 3 should be put onto the savoury test kitchen schedule soon) in the dream cafe.

Since this is mini, the filling might not be as soft and moist as baking a bigger one. Should look into temperature adjustment. Made these with chicken sausages this time, if one like sausages, one will be okay with this. The pastry was also too soft and fragile. Will make a shortcrust pastry next.

Next version will be with a slightly modified filling. Note to self: add fried onion, exchange part of the cream with milk and try adding mushroom. Simply need more "oomph".

It's a chocolate moist cake with milk chocolate icing.

Banana and Date Loaf

Baked this for breakfast and tea, since mum has got so many riped bananas around :). Something of a teatime favorite too I'm sure. Ate this with butter honey which is really too indulging already, it was good enough on it's own actually - it's supposed to be a LOAF not a CAKE. Haha...

Sticky chocolate blueberry cheesecake

Last post for the year! May you all have a fruitful and indulging year ahead with good health, loads of wealth and great success.

Made a sticky chocolate blueberry cheesecake for CS's order. It was for his dad's birthday celebration. The last time I baked this cake was in February for CS' birthday, this is one of the cakes which I only bake like once or twice a year for special occasions, and so far, no order request. The cake has a thick layer of sticky chocolate base, soft centre with oozing chocolate and a layer of cheesecake with fresh blueberries.

I quite like this cake and it's especially good for chocolate lovers who love cheesecake but don't want to get a chocolate cheesecake. However, it is also quite tricky in handling, you do need spoons to eat this cake. And perhaps due to a slight shortage of baking time this round, the cake I heard was a bit too soft with too much chocolate flowing out. Cake has a big crack too when delivered. Have put a note for fixing that.

Made some fishes with jelly with this great mould from Tan See Fong (through Wilton retail). Looks so real right?

Chocolates that looks like little stones and some grass effects. Wanted to create the water effect with some blue piping jelly, but decided not to overdo the cake decoration.

Happy birthday again to uncle. Hope you've had a great birthday celebration.

The Opening of Pilatique Solaris

Melissa contacted me last week to order cupcake for the soft opening of her studio and I found out that she is my FB friend :). The colour theme and designs were specified by her and there was a request for some TTBs doing the "teaser" (boat post?). However, I could only do one TTB because I was lacking time due to Christmas orders.

Looks a bit messy on here as I tried to fit them all on one board and in a same box. I'm sure Melissa had done a better job rearranging them for the event. Hope you've had a great event dear and thanks for ordering from me.
Check out Pilatique Pilates Malaysia on Facebook.

In The Deep Blue Sea

A baby whale

Christmas is over... Looking forward to the New Year break :).

Now, back to some birthday deliveries since I wanted to put up the Christmasy ones last week, I've postponed putting up posts of a few other deliveries. I've got a call from my cousin sis in law's (is this description correct?) colleague inquiring about Christmas yule log, oh wait, I think it was a cake in Santa shape. But when I finally got a confirmation of the order, it was actually for a birthday and the theme was "ocean". Due to time constraint as I was rushing for the baby shower and other Christmas orders, we've picked about 6 items out of the full list for this box of cupcake. Among all, the baby whale was my favorite.

Octopus - which I think looked a bit "evil" or cunning, kind of haha... Bro in law said this looked like one of the octopus in some bank's advertisement. Yeah, because I actually had that in mind, just didn't put on the cap for Octopus

Nemo

Stingray or also called the "devil fish"

Star fishes

Sea Shells

Medium size cupcakes

Another Christmas post before I post pictures of the birthday cakes and a launch cupcake set.

This was an order by Serena for her party (Thanks little bro for the lead).
